Rekha Rana changed her life
A Support to Sustain
I am Rekha Rana from Kanchanpur. Due to corona, my husband died. After the death of my husband, I moved to the Lalitpur district with my 2 daughters. It was a hard time for me as a single woman and moving to a new place where everything and everyone were new to me. I struggled to find a place to stay, for education to my children and find a job. I did not lose my hope and confidence. Finally, I found a tiny ray of hope, when one of my brothers informed me about the training which was going to be held soon. It was joy for me, because that was the skill development training where I can develop my skill.
So, I joined the training, they provided me a place to stay as well. Soon, the training started. There were many underprivileged and single women like me who lost their husband. In the training, I learned the skills of bag and jewelry making.
Now, I am skilled to make bags and jewelry and even I can train others if I get an opportunity. These days I am learning advance course of tailoring too. This skill development training provided by Awana has helped many single and underprivileged women like me to learn skills so that in future, women like us, can start some small businesses making a bag, jewelry, and tailoring to support our family financially and give our children a good education.
Thank you Awana for supporting and providing us training which has uplifted us and has extended helping hands towards us to give a new start in our lives when there was no any hope.
